CNC CMM – High accuracy for Pakuranga Engineering Ltd

A new Aberlink Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) has been ordered by Pakuranga Engineering Ltd.

Since 2003 Pakuranga Engineering Ltd has offered CMM measurements to give customers piece of mind on dimensional accuracy of machined parts. Now to remain at the leading lead of industry, we are stepping up to use the latest technology, we have chosen to purchase an Axiom too HS CNC CMM to help us achieve this goal.

The Axiom too HS is the highest specification CMM offered by Aberlink with a digital scale increment at one tenth of a micron or 0.0001mm, this gives superior measuring accuracy. Matched with Aberlink 3D software and enhanced further with their extended 3D CAD programming module, machined parts will be measured with highest accuracy, high speed and extensive custom reporting. Of course with any CAD system, importing and exporting is essential and this is easily achieved via IGES and STEP files.

We choose a table size of 640mm x 900mm x 500mm as this will suit most parts produced on our CNC lathes and CNC mills, although some of the larger parts from our CNC Horizontal machining centres may still need to be inspected with our Romer articulated arm.

What this space for our feedback when this machine arrives later this year.
